Loft Report 2 October 2017
We are pleased to announce that intake season is finally over and all international and RSA pigeons are now in quarantine at our lofts. Over the past couple of months we received pigeons from all over the world, we are happy to see our regular fanciers re-entering but we are thrilled by the number of new entrants this year. The SAMDPR competition is definitely growing.
As it was mentioned in our race directors report we had quite some difficulty to receive pigeons on account of AVI outbreaks in South Africa, but once again we pulled through.
We would like to thank all fanciers who bred pigeons for fanciers that were not able to send their own pigeons due to complications with AVI outbreaks.
Our loft manager and pigeon trainers were content with the condition the birds were received in. The class of pigeons entered into the race this year is definitely remarkable. More than 6000 pigeons are now settled in, happily cooing as they look out at the lush spring countryside, patiently waiting for quarantine to be lifted and training to start.
Our truck was upgraded with an additional 52 baskets.
Baskets are 1000mm x 800mm x 260mm this assures the comfort of the pigeons while being transported.New water and feeding troughs were installed. The truck is now ready for a busy race season ahead.
We are looking forward to the 2018 race season.
